HOMER

About the Project

The HOMER Project is an Erasmus+ initiative focused on helping visually impaired and partially sighted youth develop soft skills through sports. Based on the psychological, physical, and social benefits of sports, this project aims to enhance young people's participation in the job market and equip them with better skills.

The project seeks to boost young people's self-confidence, strengthen their resilience, and improve their social integration skills. At the same time, it aims to raise awareness among employers and break down biases against employing visually impaired individuals.

HOMER aims to demonstrate that sports are not just a physical activity but also a powerful educational tool for developing personal, social, and professional skills. The project is carried out in collaboration with partner organizations from five countries: Bulgaria, Portugal, Greece, Italy, and Turkey.

Project activities include creating educational materials, developing education models through sports, organizing awareness campaigns with employers, and designing tools to support the abilities of visually impaired individuals.
